Safety Architecture

To see and
be seen.

Safety is not a feature on VennAura. It is the prerequisite without which every introduction, every conversation, and every evening of overlap means nothing. This page documents every commitment we make — and how we keep it.

Four Pillars

How we keep
everyone safe.

Pillar 01

Identity Verification

Every member is verified before admission. No anonymous accounts. No unverified profiles.

  • OTP verification via Signal/Twilio — Phase 1 (current)
  • Persona third-party identity check — Phase 2 (at scale)
  • 18+ requirement enforced server-side, not just by checkbox
  • Profile reviewed by human team before admission
  • Verification repeated if account information changes
Pillar 02

Mutual Consent Architecture

No introduction happens without explicit consent from both parties. You control who reaches you.

  • Both members must accept before contact info is shared
  • No contact information shared until mutual acceptance confirmed
  • Decline option always available, no pressure, no explanation required
  • Introduction context provided before any decision is required
  • Block and report available at any point in the process
Pillar 03

Data Protection

CCPA-ready for California members. GDPR-ready for EU expansion. Data minimisation is a design principle, not an afterthought.

  • Supabase with row-level security — all data access controlled
  • Profile photos never retained after account deletion
  • User-controlled full deletion — all data removed within 30 days
  • No data sold to third parties, no advertiser access
  • Encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256)
Pillar 04

Transparent Reporting

We publish a monthly safety report. Not because we have to — because accountability is part of the VennAura promise.

  • Verified member count published monthly
  • Incident reports with context and resolution
  • Response time averages (target: 4hr acknowledge, 24hr resolve)
  • Feature changes made in response to safety findings
  • Report published at vennaura.com/legal/safety-report

Accountability,
by design.

Every month, we publish a safety transparency report. Not buried in a terms update — published openly, in plain language, for all members to read. This is not a legal obligation. It is a values expression.

If something goes wrong on VennAura, you'll know about it. How it happened, what we did, what we changed. Opacity in safety reporting erodes trust in every direction. Transparency builds it.
